Typical Scheduling of Tests in SSB
In a typical Service Selection Board (SSB) process, the tests are usually scheduled in the following order:
1. Screening Test: The first day consists of the Screening Test, which includes Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) Test and Picture Perception and Description Test (PPDT). Candidates who qualify in this stage proceed to the next round.
2. Psychological Tests: The psychological tests are conducted over the next two days and include the following:
a. Thematic Apperception Test (TAT)
b. Word Association Test (WAT)
c. Situation Reaction Test (SRT)
d. Self-Description Test (SD)3. Personal Interview (PI): After the psychological tests, candidates appear for the Personal Interview with the Interviewing Officer (IO).
4. Group Testing Officer (GTO) Tasks: The GTO tasks are conducted over the next few days and include the following:
a. Group Discussion (GD)
b. Group Planning Exercise (GPE)
c. Progressive Group Task (PGT)
d. Half Group Task (HGT)
e. Individual Obstacles (IO)
f. Command Task
g. Lecturette
h. Final Group Task (FGT)5. Conference: On the last day of the SSB process, all the assessors hold a Conference to discuss and evaluate each candidate's performance throughout the various tests. The final selection decision is made during this Conference.
It's important to note that the scheduling and duration of the SSB process may vary slightly depending on the specific SSB board and the number of candidates being assessed. Additionally, candidates should be mentally and physically prepared for the entire duration of the SSB process, which typically lasts for five to six days.
